The Foundation was joined by local representatives of the third sector at the Glynne Arms in Hawarden for the announcement that the Hawarden & District Relief in Need Fund is now being managed by the Community Foundation in Wales.
The Foundation has worked closely with the trustees of the Fund to ensure that the trust transfer to the Foundation would honor the original aims of the Charitable Fund and continue to support people in the area outlined by the Fund, primarily Hawarden , Aston, Bannel, Bretton, Broughton, Ewloe Town, Ewloe Wood, Hawarden, Mancot, Manor, Moor, Pentrobin, Rake, Saltney, Sealand and Shotton.
By sharing this news with representatives of the local community the Foundation hopes the Fund will be promoted across the area to those who may be eligible for funding from this Fund. The Fund’s primary objective is for the immediate relief of those in need but will also fund projects which improve the lives of people with limited resources as well as supporting individuals in this theme.
Colin Evans, Trust Transfer Associate of the Community Foundation in Wales mentioned that “the long serving committed trustees of this Fund have now passed the baton to the Foundation to continue the good work of the Fund. By working closely with these trustees and the Charity Commission we have been able to update the aims of the Fund in order to reflect the current climate/needs of the area”
If anyone is interested in applying to this fund please visit the Foundation’s grants page where information will be added shortly.
