Dr. Dewi Davies Endowment Fund
Communities, Culture, Educating & Young People, Health | Dyfed
Individuals, local community groups, charities and projects can apply for grants of between £500 and £5,000.
Where there is an exceptional case for support, grants of £10,000 may be awarded.
Dr Davies Endowment Fund provides support to the following themes:
- Groups and organisations working to tackle poverty and isolation including fuel poverty and rural issues.
- Projects that work with older generations to minimise loneliness
- Groups and organisations that support the promotion and learning of the Welsh Language, Culture and Heritage
- Building confidence and broadening horizons for individuals with limited resource.
- Talented individuals to pursue their ambitions eg. Bursaries, equipment, instruments
Who can apply:
Groups and organisations working with people who reside in the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion parishes outlined below ie. the predominant beneficiaries must by from the parishes listed.
Individuals living in the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion parishes as outlined below:
Carmarthen Parishes include the following areas –
Cilrhedyn; Cenarth; Cynwyl Elfed; Penboyr; Llangeler; Llanpumpsaint; Llanfiangel Ar Arth; Llanllwni; Llanfiangel Rhos y Corn; Llanybydder
Ceredigion Parishes include the following areas –
Cardigan; Y Ferwig; Mwnt; Tremain; Aberporth; Llangoedmor; Blaenporth; Llandygwydd; Llechryd; Brongwyn; Betws Ifan; Penbryn; Troed-y-aur; Llanfair Tref Heligon; Henllan; Llanfairerllwyn; Bangor Teifi; Llangrannog; Llanwenog; Llandysul; Llangynllo; Llandyfriog
Please note:
- Grants will not be awarded retrospectively i.e. for costs already incurred prior to receipt of the grant offer letter and signed terms and conditions.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate the financial/social need the grant will address
- Grants will not be awarded towards costs where financial support is otherwise available e.g. tuition fees where the applicant is eligible for a student loan
- Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received support from this Fund
