Fourteen Programme - Bro Aberffraw

Communities, Culture, Educating & Young People, Health | Gwynedd

Community Foundation in Wales has been commissioned by the Spirit of 2012 Trust to steward an Olympics legacy community investment programme in Bro Aberffraw. This programme, Fourteen, is a far-reaching and ambitious component of the Spirit programme.

We are seeking grant applications for projects which increase participation in sport and physical activity following consultation with local people who wanted to see more projects with a focus on increasing activity to support improved health and wellbeing in the Bro Aberffraw area. We are looking for inclusive projects that will offer activities where none currently exist, or that significantly add to existing provision. We’d be particularly interested in non-traditional sports and activities for example armchair exercises for older people, activity taster sessions, including how healthy eating can support well-being, sport targeting a beneficiary group currently not provided in the area eg. girls rugby/football, wheelchair basketball etc.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Registered charities, voluntary and community groups and social enterprises which are working in the geographical community of Bro Aberffraw, which includes the areas of Aberffraw, Soar, Hermon, Bethel, Malltraeth, Capel Mawr, Llangristiolus, Newborough, Llangaffo, Dwyran. The activity must take place in this community, and the majority of the beneficiaries must live in this community.

This Fund is currently CLOSED.

If you are interested in or have any questions about this programme, please speak to Sarah Morris at Community Foundation in Wales on [email protected] or  02920 379580.
