About Us

The Community Foundation in Wales is an independent charity that distributes grants to community groups and voluntary organisations throughout Wales.

Since 1999 the Foundation has distributed almost £2 million in grants throughout Wales.

The money for the grants comes from a wide variety of sources, including the Foundation’s own endowed funds.

We help many private individuals, companies, charitable trusts and other organisations that want their charitable giving to have lasting benefit to the community and that want to fund the causes close to their hearts.

We are building an endowment fund for Wales that will be able to support the people in greatest need, year after year.

Whatever your charitable interests may be, we can help you ensure your donations will reach out to where they are most needed.

We also manage grants on behalf of the Big Lottery (the Fair Share programme), the Henry Smith Charity, Sport Relief, and a number of companies and other charitable trusts such as the Goldsmiths Company.
