The Fair Share Trust
The Fair Share trust programme in Wales is now in its final stages. This 10 year strategic grants programme has built capacity, social capital and sustainability in targeted counties and priority themes.
The Fair Share programme has been operating in five Welsh counties; Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Anglesey , Neath Port Talbot and Wrexham, these were areas designated by the Big Lottery to have historically ‘missed out’ on their fair share of lottery funding.
The Fair Share Trust was set up with a £50m grant from Big Lottery to provide sustained funding in 77 Fair Share Areas across the UK until 2013. The Community Foundation in Wales is the local agent responsible for managing and delivering this programme in Wales.
The Fair Share Trust programme in Wales has distributed over £3Million to over 30 different projects in the ten years of the programme bringing multiple benefits and regeneration to these Welsh communities, directly and indirectly, impacting thousands of lives.
